Explain the reasoning
We do not just tell you to change something. We explain the obligation, risk or practical consideration behind the recommendation so you can understand why it matters and make better decisions in future.

The GDPR Studio is a UK data protection consultancy helping small and growing businesses understand GDPR and PECR, prioritise what matters and build compliance around the way they actually operate.
Compliance is most useful when it works in practice. Policies and documents matter, but so do the websites, CRM systems, marketing tools, suppliers, staff and everyday decisions through which personal information actually moves.
The GDPR Studio was created to bridge the gap between knowing the rules and knowing what to do. We combine clear explanation, structured review and practical next steps, with support matched to the problem your business needs to solve.
Our approach is focused on the issues that genuinely deserve attention, the reasoning behind the advice and a route forward that your business can understand, use and maintain.
Good data protection is not just about having the right documents. It is about understanding how personal information moves through your business and putting appropriate controls around the way you actually work.
We explain what matters, why it matters and what it means for your business in language that is straightforward to understand and use.
We focus on the risks, responsibilities and priorities that are relevant to your organisation rather than treating every issue as equally urgent.
We look at the systems, websites, suppliers, marketing tools, people and processes through which personal information is actually handled.
Advice should lead somewhere. We translate findings into practical priorities and next steps that can be understood, implemented and maintained.
A business does not become compliant simply by collecting policies. Effective data protection needs to connect the legal requirements with everyday decisions about data collection, lawful use, transparency, marketing, security, suppliers, retention and individual rights.
Our role is to help make those connections visible, identify where attention is genuinely needed and give businesses a structured way to improve their position over time.
Compliance should be understandable enough to use and structured enough to maintain. That principle sits behind the way The GDPR Studio designs its guidance, reviews and practical support.
Practical advice still needs to be rigorous. Our work is built around transparency, proportionate decision-making and helping businesses understand the reasoning behind what they are being asked to do.
We do not just tell you to change something. We explain the obligation, risk or practical consideration behind the recommendation so you can understand why it matters and make better decisions in future.
Compliance should not depend permanently on an external consultant. We aim to leave businesses with clearer processes, useful materials and enough understanding to manage the day-to-day work themselves.
We distinguish between what is required, what is recommended and where judgement is involved. We will not exaggerate risk, promise certainty that does not exist or recommend work simply because more work could be done.
The GDPR Studio works with businesses that need access to practical data protection expertise without building a dedicated privacy function of their own.
For businesses where GDPR sits alongside other responsibilities and you need experienced guidance to understand the issue, make a decision or review your wider position.
For businesses using websites, forms, CRM systems, marketing tools, cloud platforms, suppliers and customer records that need their compliance approach to connect across the whole data journey.
For businesses introducing new systems, suppliers, services or marketing activity, growing their team or simply realising that existing data protection arrangements no longer reflect how the business operates.

Founder of The GDPR Studio
I created The GDPR Studio because I kept seeing a gap between what data protection requires and what businesses actually need in order to apply it. Knowing the rule is only part of the job. Businesses also need to understand how it connects with their systems, marketing, suppliers, customer journeys and everyday decisions.
My background across data, marketing, compliance and business operations has shaped the way TGS approaches that problem. I wanted to build a consultancy that connects legal and regulatory requirements with the practical reality of how modern businesses handle personal information.
That means being clear about what is required, proportionate about risk and practical about what happens next. It also means explaining the reasoning behind recommendations so clients are better equipped to make informed decisions after the engagement ends.
Those principles shape the services, resources and delivery standards we build at The GDPR Studio. The aim is not simply to produce more compliance paperwork, but to help businesses create a data protection approach they can understand, use and maintain.
